If I could get no stars I would. Honestly each time I have been there as well as my on we have been misdiagnosed! Waiting times are unbelievably shocking and staff are judgemental and rude!
Went in with my 7 month old son with a raging temperature - the staff were incredibly thorough, kind and communicative. I felt so well looked after and couldn't have asked for better help for my baby, the team did an amazing job.
Emergency department is shocking. I was attacked in the street, beaten, taken by ambulance to this hospital, waited 6 hours, didn't even get to see a doctor. My 4 yr old grandson was miss diagnosed twice but when presented at Gosford was taken straight into surgery. My partner, a disabled pensioner, I am his carer, was taken into Manning base with what he felt was a heart attack, I was told to wait, 20 mins later when I asked what was going on, and when I tried to explain that he was on prescribed narcotic medication and that as his carer I should explain this to the doctor, I was abused by staff, security called, warned by the doctor to behave. I was by now distraught, my partner was upset, he felt the staff was rude, neglectful, after telling them he was a needle phobic, they left a morphine syringe on his table unsupervised for the entire time we were there. They also left his bp arm band on unsupervised till it popped off his arm, no one came back to check it. In fact, we walked out.
A great service that covers a huge area.
Emergency department is disgraceful, ive recently moved from sydney and have never been treated so poorly as i have been here. I was wrongly diagnosed and questioned my diagnosis and was given medication to take and had to ask the doctor 3 times what it was before answered i was sent home and a few hours later was even worse. I went back to hospital which is quite far from my house and told the lady i was back and still unwell i fainted waiting for the triage nurses. The next thing i know the triage nurse is standing over me asking me what im doing on the floor, my parnter is tell her to help me, and she asked me what drugs im on, my partner is trying to help me up the triage nurse did nothing to help me. She then accuse my partner of trying to hit her while all he was trying to do was help me up to my feet she calls security and put me in traige nurse room then when i asked her why is she didnt help me she yelled at me and took me to a room and left me in there alone i got my partner after a few minutes as i didnt feel safe alone in a closed room after i had just fainted. The doctor came in and it turned out i had bad kidney stones. Some nurses may be good here but in my experience i dont even feel safe going to my local hospital due to the level of incompetence i recieved. And i really did not appropriate being asked what drugs i was on im a good person and didnt deserve to be treated like this and especially from a hospital.
